For the past five years we have been proud development partners of the Villa Alegre School in Manta, Ecuador. Francisco Luna and Juan Davila founded the Villa Alegre School to help educate the children of the workers who make corozo buttons cultivated from tagua nuts harvested in the rain forests of northwestern Ecuador.
Their ambitious experiment is an oasis in the middle of the rain forest and exposes children to the worlds of language, math, science, technology, art and music. We’re proud to support the work of Francisco, Juan and their incredible staff whose vision and dedication are an inspiration to us all.
